21!

Woohoo we made it to 21 weeks! And I finally made it to a dr appointment! I hadn't been since 13 weeks... Waiting on insurance ect so that just means I have to go back next Monday for my ultrasound to make sure the anatomy looks good! Baby boy is wiggling around a ton in there... I feel like he is way more active than ryker was! Ryker was super mellow in my belly! It took the dr forever to get his heartbeat because he kept squirming away.. She kept saying I can hear him moving in there! And I could feel him moving.. Finally he stopped and let her get it.. It was at 142! Saturday I finally heard from Jeff! It had been 2 weeks since I talked to him and their mail got messed up so letters didn't go out for last week so I didn't even get a letter at all last week! He sounded the best he's sounded since he's been there! He was back to his old self making jokes ect on the phone! He passed off his mile and a half run.. He ran it in 13 minutes! He's passed his academic tests so far! They still have a few more to go! He finished up his gun training and this week they would be doing live fire with that! So all the fun stuff is coming up! Only 3 more Tuesdays left until I get to see my hubby I can't wait!!! I'm sad that I only get to see him for a DAY because they fly to Texas the day after graduation for his next training.. I don't know how I'm going to handle saying good bye again.. At least he will have his phone back for that!! Yay!!

Oh BOY!

It's another BOY! I still haven't been to the dr because of the whole insurance hiccup which I just got my paperwork to go down and get my military ID card and then I can get myself on the insurance! I'm supposed to go in a week so hopefully I'll have everything done and figured out by then! So we decided to go check on baby at a fetal photo place since I haven't been to the dr since 13 weeks and I'm 19 weeks :/ and we found out its a BOY! Yay!

Te huge screen we got to watch the baby move around on! It was crazy!
He was def a little squirmy thing in there and just like Ryker he had to sleep with his hands on his face! So sweet! We can't wait to meet him!!

Little Trips

Over Presidents Day weekend we took a quick overnight trip to Laughlin to the River! It was rykers first time in beach like sand and beach like water! He loved it! Then on Thursday we took a trip to San Diego! Luckily Right before we left for the airport we got our (ryker got his own) letters from Jeff! Yay! It made my day! Friday we took Ryker to Disneyland! His mind was blown! He couldn't even believe what he was seeing! The only ride that scared him was the Haunted Mansion..oops ha! He was such a trooper we got there a little after it opened and we stayed until after fireworks! Saturday we spent the whole day at the beach and watched the sunset! Ryker LOVED the water.. He was freezing shaking and bright red before he decided it was time to dry off and play some more in the sand! Sunday we went to the sea life aquarium at Legoland before heading to the airport! Oh and while we were at the beach playing Jeff was able to call me again!! I was sooo excited! He said he passed his sit-ups and push-ups for graduation but missed his run by 9 SECONDS! That was his first week running.. So in a few weeks he will have the chance to pass it off again! 5 more weeks until I see my Hubby I can't wait!!

First phone call!

While I was laying in bed this morning playing on Pinterest.. Waiting for ryker and the family to all wake up my phone started ringing with a number from Chicago! I answered right away knowing it had to be Jeff but I was worried it was a call to say he was coming home since he wasn't supposed to be making a phone call quite yet. I was so excited it was him and he sounded so calm and happy! I immediately let him know we were having problems with the insurance and that for some reason Ryker and I weren't covered and so I had to cancel my dr appointment and can't go now until I'm 20 weeks! Luckily he had already known what was going on and said he was frustrated too and ryker had been added yesterday, but they didnt have my license so they couldn't add me yet! He gave me his officers email so that I could scan my license and email it to him and get added as soon as possible! He really was calling though because they moved their divisions graduation date up a week early! Yay! Only 6 more weeks until I get to see my hubby for a day or two I can't wait!! I asked him if he was homesick and he said that he really missed us but he's doin fine! Of coarse he told me he got his military pants a size smaller so they are a little tighter and he is "metro-ing" it up in there! Ha! He said he just passed his swimming test yesterday that's needed for graduation so that's one less thing he has to worry about!! :) I'm so glad that I was able to talk to him for about 15 minutes today! It was so nice to hear SOMETHING from him since I haven't heard a thing in 11 days!!  I mailed him his first letters last Tuesday morning and he said that he still hasn't gotten any thing yet.. But he said he's in charge of mail so he will know when it comes!! :) oh I really am just on cloud nine! I just love him so much!! I feel like a giddy teenager falling in love all over agin! ;) he said that they haven't been able to write letters but tomorrow is the day they get that opportunity so I'm hoping for a letter from him in the next week!!!! Until then!!

Box...

Today Jeff's box came in the mail.. With his pants and shirt and shoes and stuff he was wearing the night he got to boot.. It also had his phone and backpack and the notecards he had made to study all of his navy stuff... I don't know why it made me so sad to get it! I mean it's just material items.. But it made me miss him! Not being able to talk to him at all and getting a box full of the stuff he last used and wore just made me sad!  If only it would have had a letter in it :( but I know they don't give them that kind of time or anything like that to write a letter the first night or week... Heck the things I read online were true.. His pants were still cuffed from getting boot measurements!! It really did look like he packed up his stuff rushed ha ha there was change and notecards scattered all over the place in that box! Ha ha Lily is going crazy over his clothes she knows it's his stuff and she really misses him!!

The cuffed pants with his belt still in the loops.. He must have been in a hurry ;)

Staying busy

Little Ryker keeps me pretty occupied these days! He seems to be handling things well so far with Jeff being gone! There's lots of family to keep his mind off things! Yesterday we went to our new ward and he just loved the little nursery he is in! And not to mention we are enjoying the warmer weather! It's supposed to be almost 80 this weekend!!

Day 1-2

Sunday morning when we woke up in our hotel room in cedar I could not stop crying.. I realized this was my last full day with my husband and that in 24 hours he would be on a plane back to Salt Lake and then on to Chicago. When we finally made it to Vegas and unpacked and put stuff in storage I could not stop crying because I felt like our life together was temporarily over. Ryker and I would be here in Vegas and Jeff would not be coming home every night to be with us. I have the hardest time when I start to think about Ryker, and how guilty I feel that all of a sudden his dad is gone and he doesn't understand why and I can't really explain it to him to the point where he understands. Luckily before Jeff left he made ryker a book of pictures of the two of them, and he also bought those recordable books and recorded his voice so he can "read" to Ryker everynight. I feel so bad because Ryker had no Idea what was coming and I had no way to prepare him, and it just breaks my heart because he is Jeff's number one fan, such a daddy's boy. When it was time for bed I kept telling Jeff that I didn't want to go to sleep because when I did I would wake up to him leaving us for 7 months!
He had to be up by 5:30 the Monday morning to make his flight back to Salt Lake. Hugging and kissing him for the last time was the hardest thing I ever had to do, I didn't ever want to let go! I stayed pretty busy that day organizing all my stuff and getting all settled in, I was lucky enough to be able to text and talk to him the whole day, which made the day much easier, but I knew that after Tuesday this wasn't going to be an option anymore for the next 2 months and that's when things were going to get hard. Tuesday morning I was lucky enough to have Brian FaceTime me while they were all at Jeff's swearing in. I felt like I was there and got to watch my husband in action which made me so proud. I would have done anything to have been there in person, but Jeff didn't want to have Ryker make 3 trips back and forth from Vegas. He really did insist on us not driving back to Salt Lake Monday and back to Vegas Tuesday.. Which turned out to be a good thing since it snowed those days. Jeff was able to call and text me while he was at the airport for a few hours, and he sent me a text or two when he landed and told me he would call me when he made it to RTC. 3 hours later I finally got my 2 second phone call from him, he said he was doing okay and things were good.. And that he would be mailing his box with all of his civilian belongings to me... He told me he loved me and that he thinks he can call me in a few weeks ( therefore my phone will be glued to my side so I don't miss his call.. Just like it was all today!!) I asked him if he would get to go to bed soon because I knew he was so tired, but he said they don't get to sleep the first night, he was going to be up for 24 hours... Which led to me googling why they are up for the first 24 hours.. Which led to me reading the things that go on the first few days.. Which makes me so proud of him. I can't imagine what he is going through and I can't imagine the things that he might be feeling... But I know he will do great! I'm looking forward to getting my first letter and we have been brainstorming fun ideas of treats to mail to him! I don't know how I'll be feeling the next few days.. Adjusting to not having any more contact with him at all..And wondering how everything is going for him and what he is doing! Luckily Ryker and I have a fun trip planned to San Diego and Disneyland in 2 weeks..that gives us something to look forward to.. And then of coarse our big trip at the beginning of April to see Jeff graduate bootcamp!! The only downfall.. We only get like 2-3 days with him and then we have to say good-bye again.. But at least at that point he will have his phone back! Yay!! Well, I will try to keep our blog posted with what's going on with Jeff because that's what he wanted for his family and friends!!! I'll update as soon as I hear from him!
Face timing his swearing in... So proud of him!
